Will Ukrainians refuse gas boilers?

Gas Boiler. To be or not to be?

Already more than 18 thousand Ukrainian families have refused from gas and taking advantage of the Government program on energy efficiency, installed in their homes boilers that run on alternative fuels. Only for the last three weeks 2444 "non-gas" boilers were purchased, which is three times more than for the whole June 2016. Sergey Savchuk, Chairman of the State Energy Efficiency Agency, analyzed the data from the weekly monitoring of the government's energy efficiency program.

According to him, the statistics for the week are also indicative. So, for the last seven days Ukrainians bought 1,357 "non-gas" boilers for the sum of 24.4 million UAH.

Chairman of the State Energy Efficiency Agency says that boilers for solid fuel have several advantages over gas boilers. In particular, it is the absence of complex licensing procedures for the installation, which is not the case with gas boilers; availability and low cost of local fuel, as well as the fact that the choice of fuel depends on the consumer.

In addition, modern modified solid fuel boilers are easy to operate and have a high efficiency of 90-95%.

Recall that the government grants people non-repayable financial assistance through Sberbank, Ukrgasbank and Ukreksimbank to purchase boilers that run on other fuels except gas and electricity, namely 20% compensation of the amount of credit raised, and for subsidies - 70%. This program was introduced back in October 2014.
